Wallingford

Wallingford has a bit of an international flair to it. Due in large part to the wide variety of restaurants located in the commercial district of the neighborhood that runs along N 45th Street. If you like to eat, Wallingford is the place for you!

You can find: Japanese, Italian (at least three), juice bars, wine bars, sushi, organic cuisine, Mexican, burgers (sit-down and drive-in), American Diner (at least two), Indian, Hawaiian, Greek (at least two), Chinese, Afghan, Thai, Vegetarian Thai, Coffee houses, Tea houses and brew pubs.

The neighborhood also provides good places to work off all those extra calories. The Burke-Gilman trail runs along the Ship Canal and Lake Union at the south border of Wallingford and provides a nice and (for the most part) off-road place to bike, walk or run. The trail has good views of downtown Seattle and the water and goes through Gasworks Park. But if you are too full to move and just want to sit, you can catch a movie at the Guild 45th Theatre.

And if you keep an eye out, you can catch resident (International) Rock Star Dave Matthews parking his Prius in the driveway of his Wallingford home.

Here is what Wallingford residents have to say about the area:

"Wallingford is a great neighborhood for so many reasons, especially for kids. John Stanford School's language immersion program and Wallingford Park are great - especially in the summer with the wading pool. And the Wallingford Library has a kids program that includes free Spanish classes/readings on Tuesdays."
