Queen Anne

As one of the oldest neighborhoods in Seattle, Queen Anne displays some of the best advantages the city has to offer. Located adjacent to the downtown core, it offers a commute time that can be measured in seconds. The commercial area is well-developed and offers a wide variety of cuisine, shops and grocery stores. Everything from Sushi, to Italian, pizza, pancakes and everything in between.

More formally known as Queen Anne Hill, walking through the neighborhood does take some effort in terms of elevation change. However the stellar views offered throughout the neighborhood make the effort worthwhile. Spectacular views of Elliott Bay, both the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, Lake Union, downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier can be seen even on rainy days.

The majority of the housing was built prior to 1940 and it makes for a very diverse-looking neighborhood. Sizes and styles of homes vary from one house to the next and years of remodeling and additions have made each home unique. Newer construction homes come in two types: large and fairly expensive or smaller townhouse-style homes. Condos are also quite popular in this neighborhood and there are many different buildings to choose from.
